At devotions DCPC Youth answer the question, "Where did you see God today?" This blog recounts our stories, the places we find ourselves in God's story, and the ways we see God working in the world around us.

Mission Possible 5

Mission Possible 5: Atlanta

Get a glimpse of the Middle School Youth's trip to Mission Possible 5, in Atlanta. Each year youth from 5 churches in Tennessee, Georgia, Pennsylvania and North Carolina get together to serve God, based out of one of the partner church's facilities. The churches in the Mission Possible partnership are Harpeth, Pleasant Hill (this year's host), Swarthmore, and First Presbyterian in Shelbyville.

The theme scripture for the week was Luke 19:1-10, the story of Zacchaeus. We worshipped together, exploring how we might put ourselves into a position to get a glimpse of Jesus and how we might respond in bold, gracious living when we encounter Christ. We served in hunger agencies, homeless shelters, children's homes and thrift stores. And we played. Yep, that was us they caught dancing on the jumbotron at the Braves game. It was a good week of God sightings, lots of pounded pavement and time with friends.

Check back to find out how we saw, heard, tasted, touched and smelled Mission Possible 5.

Here is the beginning of my post. And here is the rest of it.
